1. What We Collect

The Website Extractor Chrome extension collects only the minimum data needed for it to work:

  • Authentication token — issued by our service when you sign in. It is stored locally in your browser (Chrome extension storage) and is used solely to authenticate your requests. It is never shared with third parties.
  • Page content — the HTML or text of the web page you actively choose to extract. This content is sent to an AI API provider (Anthropic / OpenAI or similar) to produce structured output for you. No page content is retained by us after the request completes.

2. Where Your Data Goes

  • Auth token — stored locally in your browser only. It is sent to our own servers on each API request to verify your identity, then discarded.
  • Page content — transmitted over HTTPS to the AI API provider (e.g., Anthropic) strictly to fulfill your extraction request. The provider's own privacy policy governs how they handle that content. We do not store a copy of your page content on our servers.
  • Extraction results — returned directly to you in the extension. We may store a minimal usage log (timestamp, token ID, character count) for billing and abuse prevention, but never the raw page content or results.

3. What We Do Not Do

  • We do not sell your data to anyone.
  • We do not share your data with third parties except the AI API provider required to run the extraction you requested.
  • We do not track your browsing activity beyond the pages you explicitly send for extraction.
  • We do not use cookies or analytics on extension requests.

4. Data Retention

Auth tokens expire automatically and can be revoked from your account dashboard at any time. Usage logs (timestamp + token ID + character count) are retained for up to 90 days for billing purposes, then deleted. Page content is never stored.

5. Security

All data in transit is encrypted via HTTPS/TLS. Auth tokens are stored in Chrome's isolated extension storage, inaccessible to other extensions or web pages.

6. Children's Privacy

This extension is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as the extension evolves. Material changes will be announced in the extension's changelog and reflected in the "Last updated" date above.
